School Counselors

 Tinah Houck:

Ms. Houck is currently a school counselor at Red Lion Area Junior High School for students with the last name beginning with H - P.  This is her 10th year at Red Lion Area Junior High School.  She earned a  B.A. in Psychology from the College of Notre Dame in Maryland which is now Notre Dame of Maryland University.  She earned her M.S. in Counselor Education from Western Maryland College which is now McDaniel College.  Prior to working at Red Lion Area Junior High School she worked as a mental health counselor in Pennsylvania and a licensed mental health counselor in New Mexico for two years.  For six years she also worked at several universities in Maryland in academic and athletic offices.  She feels that we are forever growing and changing.  Ms. Houck enjoys helping students to find a successful path in life and opening their minds to new opportunities.

 Ryan McCleary:
 
Mr. McCleary is currently a school counselor at Red Lion Area Junior High School for students with last names beginning with A - G.  This is his 1st year at Red Lion Area Junior High School.  Mr. McCleary was a school counselor at Red Lion Area Senior High School for the past 13 years.  He earned a  B.S. in Biology from Susquehanna University and earned his M.S. in Counselor Education from Western Maryland College, currently known as McDaniel College.  Prior to working at Red Lion, he worked as a junior high school counselor for 6 years in another school district.  Mr. McCleary enjoys assisting students with the many personal and academic challenges they encounter throughout their individual educational journeys.
 
Alicia Stewart: 
 
Mrs. Alicia Stewart is currently a school counselor for students with the last names Q-Z and Mrs. Rednak's students. This is her 12th year as a school counselor and her 6th year at RLAJH. Mrs. Stewart has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Sociology from York College of Pennsylvania. She earned her Master of Science degree in School Counseling from McDaniel College in Maryland. Prior to becoming a school counselor, Mrs. Stewart was a Crisis Intervention Specialist at Wellspan York Hospital for 10 years. She enjoys working with teenagers and encourages everyone to do their best and be kind.
