Bio
Mrs. Lankford is currently working as a "Teacher on Assignment" as Red Lion's K-12 STEELS Implementation Coach. She has always known that she wanted to work with people to increase their love for the natural world. Mrs. Lankford earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Environmental Education from Slippery Rock University. Later on she picked up her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Millersville University and her 7-12 General Science certification. Mrs. Lankford has been teaching at Red Lion since 2008. Over the years, she has built on her experience in both the elementary classroom (2nd and 4th) as well as the secondary classroom (7th). In 2020, she was selected to work on Pennsylvania's State Science Standards Writing Committee, which we later adopted in 2022. Her role in writing the Environmental Literacy and Sustainability standards interested grantees of a NOAA BWET grant and she became the PA South Central Environmental Literacy Hub Co-lead.
Outside of school, Carrie enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Whether it's hiking, camping, sports, or working on projects on their 1850's farmette property, her goal is always connection and appreciation.
