Every student in RLASD has learned about each of the PRIDE expectations. PRIDE, our District-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support System, is being implemented across the district. PRIDE tickets are given to students who “are caught” demonstrating the traits, especially if the behavior is one in which the student “goes above and beyond” the expectation. The tickets are placed in boxes, and five-ten tickets are pulled for weekly, monthly, and end-of-year incentives.
Data is collected and used to help make decisions when addressing behavior concerns. The goal is for our children to be intrinsically motivated to demonstrate appropriate behavior on a consistent basis, not just for rewards. Home support in reinforcing and modeling PRIDE expectations contributes to the success of this goal.
